Hi,
Using the standard slope-intercept form for an equation of a line y = mx + b
where m is the slope and b the y-intercept.
y = x + 3 y-intercept is (0,3) slope of the line m =1/1
Note: slope tells us as y value changes by 1, x value changes by 1 as well
You can put this solution on YOUR website! graph y = x + 3 and what is the y- intercept?
----
You need two points.
----
x-intercept = ?
Let y = 0
then x+3 = 0
and x = -3
---
So the x-intercept is (-3,0)
===================================
y-intercept = ?
Let x = 0
then y = 0+3
and y = 3
---
So the y-intercept is (0,3)
=====================================
Plot those two points and draw a line thru them to get:

Stan H.
