You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Since 1 hour = 60 minutes, this means that 1%2F5 hour = 12 minutes (divide both sides by 5)


So in this case we're given that the speed is 40 mph. So r=40. The time is 1%2F5 hours. So t=1%2F5


Now plug these values into d=rt to get d=40%281%2F5%29=40%2F5=8


So the car will travel 8 miles.
