Question 390307: I am having trouble with these long equations, I know how to do them but I keep getting them wrong. This is a problem that I'm stuck on. 8-p=-12-3p. I keep checking and I'm getting the wrong answer. My answer is 5. I might be doing a step wrong. Please help! Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 8-p=-12-3p
---
Add 3p to both sides to get:
8+2p = -12
Subtract 8 from both sides:
2p = -20
Divide both sides by 2 to get:
p = -10
==============
Check:
8--10 = -12-3(-10)
8+10 = -12+30
18 = 18
=====================
