Hi,
Let x represent the number expected to be defective with 5000 cars
Question Sets Up the Proportion
5%2F150+=+x%2F5000
cross Multitplying to solve for x
150x = 5*5000
x = 5*5000/150
x = 167, the number expected to be defective with 5000 cars
