4x%2By=-5........add -4x to both sides
4x+-+4x+%2By=+-4x+-5
cross%284x%29+-+cross%284x%29+%2By=+-4x+-5
y+=+-4x+-5....this is your answer

Hello,
To get y by itself in this 4x+y=-5
We subtract 4x from both sides:
y=-4x-5
There we go.
Make sense?
