Question 389997: Kayla's I.Q. is 27 points about Terry's. Their combined I.Q. score is 267. What is each of their I.Q. scores?
I've tried making th equation as :
K + T = 27
K + T = 267
But whenever I tried to solve it ( for T ) It ended up with a positive T minus a negative T , which didn't make sense. All I really need is to know how you set up the equation, from there I could solve.
Please and thank you for your help!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If you mean "Kayla's I.Q. is 27 points above (not about) Terry's", then this means that K=T%2B27. You can then subtract T from both sides to get K-T=27

So the equations are

K - T = 27
K + T = 267
