Solving the equation
x^2 + 18x + 81 = 25
x^2 + 18x + 56 = 0
factoring
(x+14)(x+4)= 0 Note:SUM of the inner product(14*x) and the outer product(4x) =18
(x+14)=0 x = -14
(x+4)= 0 x = -4
If factoring does not occur to You, Quadratic formula always an alternative

x = -28/2 = -14
or x = -8/2 = -4 }}}

both sides of the equation are perfect squares ___ (x + 9)^2 = 25

taking square root (remember plus/minus roots) ___ x + 9 = �5

x = -9 � 5

x = -4 ___ AND ___ x = -14
