generally, when the variable is in the exponent, logarithms are used to solve.
6^3x = 30
3xlog 6 =log 30
3x =(log 30)/(log 6)
x =(log 30)/(3*log 6)
x = .63275
check:6^3*.63275=30
ans: x = .63275
