Using the quadratic formula

 x^2+x-20 = 0

x+=+%28-1+%2B-+sqrt%28+81%29%29%2F%282%29+

x+=+%28-1+%2B-9+%29%2F%282%29+  x = -10/2 = -5 and x = 8/2 = 4

 x^2 - 5x + 6 = 0 

x+=+%285+%2B-+sqrt%28+1%29%29%2F%282%29+
