Let x and (x+1) represent the smaller and larger consecutive numbers respectively

Question States***

 4/7(x+1) = (1/2)x  + 5

solving for x

 8(x+1) = 7x +  70  Multiplying both sides of equation by 14

  8 + 8x = 7x + 70

      x = 62, the smaller number. Larger number is 63
