Hi,
a father is four times as old as the sum of the ages of his two sons
Let x and 4x represent the sum of son's ages and father's age NOW
Question States***
4x + 8 = 2[x+16]
Solving for x
4x + 8 = 2x + 32
2x = 24
x = 12, the sum of the two son's ages NOW. Father is 48. (4*12)
CHECKING our Answer***(8 years from NOW)
56 = 2*28 = 56
