You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A car tyre with an internal volume of 0.02m^3 is filled to a pressure of 310 Kpa at 15 C. After a long run the pressure rises to 340 Kpa.
What is the temperature of the air in the tyre, assuming that the volume of the tyre is unchanged ?
--------------------
PV = nRT
With all other variables held constant:
P = kT
Use -273º as absolute zero:
310 = k*(15 + 273) = k*288
k = 155/144
----------------
340 = kT = 155T/144
T = 340*144/155
T =~ 315.87º Kelvin
T = 42.87º C
