You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Note: is the first point . So this means that x%5B1%5D=-3 and y%5B1%5D=-3.
Also, is the second point . So this means that x%5B2%5D=-3 and y%5B2%5D=6.

d=sqrt%28%28x%5B1%5D-x%5B2%5D%29%5E2%2B%28y%5B1%5D-y%5B2%5D%29%5E2%29 Start with the distance formula.

d=sqrt%28%28-3--3%29%5E2%2B%28-3-6%29%5E2%29 Plug in x%5B1%5D=-3, x%5B2%5D=-3, y%5B1%5D=-3, and y%5B2%5D=6.

d=sqrt%28%280%29%5E2%2B%28-3-6%29%5E2%29 Subtract -3 from -3 to get 0.

d=sqrt%28%280%29%5E2%2B%28-9%29%5E2%29 Subtract 6 from -3 to get -9.

d=sqrt%280%2B%28-9%29%5E2%29 Square 0 to get 0.

d=sqrt%280%2B81%29 Square -9 to get 81.

d=sqrt%2881%29 Add 0 to 81 to get 81.

d=9 Take the square root of 81 to get 9.

So our answer is d=9

So the distance between the two points is 9 units.

Note: because the two points have the same x coordinate, we can think of this distance along a number line. So we can essentially count the number of spaces between -3 and 6 to get 9 spaces (or units)
