let y = length of first piece
y=(x +5)
(3/4)x =(3/5)Y = (3/5)(x +5)

LCD: 20
15x = 12(x+5)=12x +60
15x - 12x = 60
3x = 60
x=20 cm
ans: the length of the second piece is 20 cm
