You can put this solution on YOUR website! If tan θ = -2/3 and angle θ lies in the second quadrant, what is the value of cos θ?
----------
tan(theta) = y/x and x is negative in the second quadrant.
Therefore y = 2 and x = -3
-----------
To get the cos(theta) you need to know "r":
r = sqrt(2^2+3^2) = sqrt(13)
----
So, cos(theta) = x/r = -3/sqrt(13)
