Question 387068: this is a tough one!
In 1994 the life expectancy of males in a certain country was 63.5 years. In 1999, it was 66.9 years. Let E represent the life expectancy in year t and let t represent the number of years since 1994.
The linear fuction E(t) that fits the data is
E(t)=_t+_ (round to the nearest)
Use the function to predict the life expectancy of males in 2008.
E(14)=_
(round to the nearest)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The "slope" is (66.9 - 63.5)/5 = .68, and E(0) = 63.5. Therefore the function should be E(t) = 63.5 + .68t.

E(14) = 63.5 + .68(14) = 73.02 years
