Let x and (4x-50) represent the width and the length respectively

Question states***

12,000 = x + x + (4x-50) + (4x - 50)

solving for x

 12,000 = 10x - 100

  12,100 = 10x

   1210 = x, the width.  the lenth is 4790    (4*1210 -50)



CHECKING our Anwer

 2*1210 + 2*4790 = 2420 + 9580 = 12,000
