You can put this solution on YOUR website! substitute the EQUIVALENT value for y from one equation into the other equation
this should leave an equation with only x in it
in the 1st equation , y equals (8x-5) ; (8x-5) is the equivalent value
substituting into the 2nd equation ___ (8x-5) = 2x+1
solving for x ___ 6x = 6 ___ x = 1
substituting back to find y ___ y = 8(1) - 5 ___ y = 3
