Question 385441: Can anyone help me with these problems? I would like to see the steps rather than a direct answer. Thank you.
Consider the function: f(x)={3x-1, x≤2}
{-x^2-1, x>2}
a) Which graph would have the open circle at the end?
b) What is the value of the function at x=2?
c) What is the value of f(3)?
d) What is the value of f(-4)?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Consider the function:
f(x)={3x-1, x≤2}
f(x) = {-x^2-1, x>2}
a) Which graph would have the open circle at the end?
Not sure what is meant by that.
----------------------------------------
b) What is the value of the function at x=2?
f(2) = 3*2-1 = 5
--------------------
c) What is the value of f(3)?
f(3) = -(3)^2-1 = -10
--------------------
d) What is the value of f(-4)?
f(-4) = 3(-4)-1 = -13
