Question 384325: the quotient of one number by another is 14, if the lesser number is represented by m, write an expression for the greater number ( assume m>0 )
Answer by robertb(5830) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Let G = greater number. Then , or G = 14m. This is when m divides G.
If m doesn't divide G, then G = 14m + k, where k = 1,2,3,4,...,m - 1. (That is, the remainder must be a number from 1,2,3,..., m-1.)
