You can put this solution on YOUR website!
9(x+8)+6 = 8(x+8)+4
9x+72+6 = 8x+64+4
9x+78 = 8x+68
x = -10

One possible way is to subtract 8(x - 8) from both sides to obtain
(x + 8) + 6 = 4
x + 14 = 4
x = -10
