Question 380410: I saw the answer to my question but did not really understand how it was broken down. Why is the answer 95 degrees to this question.
The second angle of a triangular building lot is three times as large as the first. The third angle is 10degrees more than the sum of other two angles. Find the measure of the thrid angle.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If the first angle is x, then the second angle is 3x. Then, the third angle would be (3x + x + 10) or (4x + 10).
Since x + 3x + (4x + 10) = 180, then 8x = 170 --> x = 85/4 degrees. Since the third angle is 4x + 10 degrees, then it is equal to 4(85/4) + 10 = 95 degrees.
