Question 380273: I don't understand the o thing. Does it mean multiply or what? and I don't totally understand the function within a function. Please help me solve this.
Express the function f(g(x))={1}/{x + 8} in the form f o g. If g(x)=x+8, find the function f(x).

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
That means that wherever you have an x in the function f%28x%29 substitute g.
f%28g%29=1%2F%28x%2B8%29
where
g=x%2B8
Substituting,
f%28g%29=1%2Fg
So if you work backwards and substitute x for every occurence of g then,
highlight%28f%28x%29=1%2Fx%29
