First, plot the point (-1, 4). Do this by starting at the origin (0, 0), and count left 1 and up 4. Put a dot there.
Slope means "rise over run". Recall that 2 is the same as 2%2F1. This means that for every 2 units you rise (or go up), you will run (go to the right) 1 unit. You can do that starting from the point (-1, 4).
