Question 37996: o.k using foil and the exponet operations thing i have to solve this equation
(-2x-9)(3x^2+6x-8)
o.k i got down to -6x^3-12x^2+16x-27X^2-54x+72
is that right or should it be like -6x2-12x+16x-27x^2-54x+72 or am i completly wrong.please help this is on my 9 week exam on wed.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! You're first attempt was right, -6x^3-12x^2+16x-27X^2-54x+72. Then, we can simplify this further. If the variable and exponent are the same (both x^2, for example), then we can combine those terms. So your expression becomes:
-6x^3-39x^2-38x+72
