Hi,
1)Assuming the x was ommitted after the -2
3x^2-2x+7=0 what is being done here..is that the square has been completed:
3(x^2 - 2/3x + 1/9 -1/9) + 7 = 0
3(x^2 - 2/3x + 1/9)+ 3*(-1/9) + 7 = 0
3(x-1/3)^2 - 1/3 + 7 = 0
3(x-1/3)^2 = -20/3
(x-1/3)^2 = -20/9
2)
y=b^x and b>1
Answer would be other according to the properties of logarithms
