You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x = height of the tree.

Set up the ratio %28Height%29%2F%28Shadow%29+=5%2F6=x%2F30

Since a%2Fb=c%2Fd means ad=bc,
5%2F6=x%2F30 means 5%2A30=6%2Ax
150=6x
x=150%2F6=25

For a complete explanation of RATIO and PROPORTION, please see my own website. Click on my tutor name "Rapaljer" anywhere in algebra.com, and then click on my website that is given there. Look for the link "Basic, Intermediate, and College Algebra: One Step at a Time" and select "Basic Algebra", "Chapter 3", "Section 3.08 Ratio and Proportion". My explanations were written for students who have trouble understanding math, and according to my own students, much easier to understand than traditional textbooks.

This is a topic that is really much easier than it looks. It should not be hard for you if it is explained in an easy to understand way!!! Hang in there and get lots of practice!!
