To see if (x+4) is a factor, use polynomial long division to find that
Since we get a remainder of 0, this means that (x+4) is indeed a factor.
To see if (x+1) is a factor, use polynomial division again to get
This time we don't get a remainder of 0. So (x+1) is NOT a factor.
