You can put this solution on YOUR website! p = f/2, and (p + 1) + (f + 1) = 62, which is equivalent to p + f = 60. By direct substitution,
then we get
f/2 + f =60, or 3f/2 = 60, or f = 40, the father's age.
And p = 40/2 = 20, Paul's age.
