Let $9 ticket be y
x+y=29
y=29-x (subsitution)
7x+9y=225 subsitute for y:
7x+9(29-x)=225
-2x=-36
x=18
y=29-18
y=11
Hence, there were 18 tickets solde for $7, and 11 tickets sold for $9.
