You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A rectangular garden is w ft wide is enclosed by 120 ft of fencing.
How long is the garden?
:
The fence is the perimeter, so write the perimeter equation
2L + 2w = 120
We can simplify this, divide thru by 2, and you have:
L + w = 60
Subtract w from both sides, leaving L =
L = 60 - w
:
The answer is: Length of the garden = (60-w)
