(1,2) is a solution



(-1,-4) ---> x=-1, y=-4
y=3x-1
-4=3(-1)-1
-4=-4
(-1,-4) is a solution




(2,3) ---> x=2, y=3
y=3x-1
3=3(2)-1
3=5
(2,3) is not a solution
