Let x represent the length of each side of the square

P = 4x

question states***

x^2 = 45 + 4x

x^2 - 4x -45 = 0

(x - 9)(x+5) = 0

(x+5)= 0

x = -5 cannot use

(x-9)= 0

x = 9, the length of each side of the square

CHECKING our Answer***

9^2 = 81 = 4*9 + 45 = 36 + 45 = 81
