| Question 374184: I am stuck on part of my Algebra homework. I have tried changing the signs around, foil, and everything else I can think of. It is driving me crazy. Here is what I have got so far.

 The question is:
Find binomials that fit the conditions below
 a) Write two binomials whose product is a binomial.
 (a-b)(a+b)=a^2-b^2
 b) Write two binomials whose product is a trinomial.
 (x+1)(x+2)=x^2+3x+2
 c) Write two binomials whose produce is a 4-nomial.
 (x+y)(a+b)=(x+y)a+(x+y)b=ax+ay+bx+y
 d) Write two binomials whose product is a 5-nomial.

Every combination I try, I either end up with a 4-nomial or a 6 or more-nomial. I am pretty positive I have a-c right but d is stumping me and could really use some guidance.

      (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! two BInomials multiplied together would yield four products (FOIL)
in some cases , like a) and b) , some of the products can be combined to result in less than four terms
___ to get more than four products (terms) from two pairs of multiplications does not seem likely

would be interested to see your 6-nomial solution...
