one car 50 km/h
other car 60km/h
..
everyhour they will be at a distance of their sum of speeds
add up 50+60 =110 km/h
..
distance = 1000 km
speed = 110 km/h
time = distance /speed
t = 1000/110
t = 9.09 hours
