Question 373741: I need help simplifying this expression please %28x%5E3+%2B+8%29%2F%28x%5E3+-+4+x%29
I think i have the bottom half correct so far as x(x+2)(x-2) but I am not sure how to do the top since it does not not have an x on the 8!
Edit: I now have %28x%2B2%29%28x-2%29%28x-2%29%2Fx%28x%2B2%29%28x-2%29 which I canceled out to x-2/x but the homework system I am using is telling me that it is incorrect could you help me further please?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Use the sum of cubes formula to factor x%5E3+%2B+8 to get %28x%2B2%29%28x%5E2-2x%2B4%29. From there, you'll see what cancels. Note: you have the correct factorization of the denominator.
