Let t represent the time it takes to travel travel 600 miles to one city and 

then 120 miles further to another city.

Total distance = 600mi + 120mi = 720mi

t = d/r

t = 720m/60mph

t = 12hrs, is the  time it takes to travel the entire 720mi
