Solve using the elimination method. Show your work. If the system has no solution or an infinite number of solutions, state this.
-3x – 5y = 61
7x – 5y = -9

Multiply one of the equations by -1. I'll do that to the first one to show you.
-1(-3x-5y=61) turns into...
3x+5y=-61
7x-5y=-9
Now just add straight down.
10x + 0y = -70
Now divide each side by 10.
x = -7
