(y+2)(y-7)(y+8)
multiply the (y - 7)(y + 8) with FOIL
y^2 + 8y - 7y - 56 = y^2 + y - 56
(y + 2)(y^2 + y - 56)
distribute the y first then add the distributed 2
y^3 + y^2 - 56y + 2y^2 + 2y - 112
y^3 + 3y^2 - 54y - 112
