today he has to make up twelve problems. He alterates between one hour with the music and one hour without, starting with it on. If it takes him 5 hours to complete the problems, how many problems can he make up in an hour while listening to music? Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source):

completion time = 5 hours

Starts with music on
3 hours music on and 2 hours without music.
In 2 hours he will do 2*3 = 6 problems.
Balnce 6 problems in 3 hours
so with music he does 2 problems per hour.
