Question 369793: The Lookout Mountain Incline Railway in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is the steepest railway in the world. A section of the railway has a slope of about 0.73. You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The slope m is equivalent to rise over run, or the change in the y values (deltay) over the change in the x values (deltax).

m=0.73 and deltay=1

change in y/change in x=0.73

deltay/deltax=0.73

1/deltax=0.73

1/0.73=deltax

deltax=1.3698...

For each vertical change of 1 unit, we have a corresponding horizontal change of 1.37 units.

I hope this helps!
