Hi,
Using the general slope=intercept form for an equation of a line:
y = mx + b where m is the slope and b the y-intercept
y = (-3/4)x + b Using ordered pair(8,-4) to solve for b
-4 = (-3/4)*8 + b
-4 = -6 + b
2 = b
equation of the line is:
y = (-3/4)*x + 2
x = -4
y = (-3/4)*-4 + 2 = 5
y = (-3/4)*x + 2
y = −1
-1 = (-3/4)*x + 2
-3 = (-3/4)*x
4 = x
