Let x represent one of the numbers, the (43-x) wil be the other

x(43-x) = 442

solve for x

43x - x^2 = 442

0 = x^2 - 43x + 442

factor

(x-26)(x-17)=0

x = 26 or x = 17

17 and 26 are the numbers as (43-17) is 26
