3 and 6 are multiple of 3.
probability of showing of a number multiple of 3 = 2/6 = 1/3
probability of showing of a no. multiple of 3 by both dices = 1/3 * 1/3 = 1/9

ans : D. 1/9

***What is the probability both the two dice thrown show a number multiple of 3? ***
In one die, the probability that a number divisible by 3 will land is 2/6, or 1/3. This is also true for the other die. Thus the probability that both dice show multiples of 3 is %281%2F3%29%2A%281%2F3%29+=+1%2F9, letter D.
