Question 365379: I need help on this equation.
3%5E%282x%29-%284%293%5Ex-2=-5
I'm not sure what to do because Im mostly confused with the middle term.
If you can please solve this one, i can do the others on my own.

Thank you.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
It's a quadratic in 3^x
Sub y for 3^x
y%5E2+-+4y+%2B+3+=+0
(y-1)*(y-3) = 0
y = 1, y = 3
-----------
3^x = 1
x = 0
-------
3^x = 3
x = 1

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First, let z=3%5Ex. So z%5E2=3%5E%282x%29

This means that the equation then becomes z%5E2-4z-2=-5. Do you think you can handle it from here? All you need to do is solve for 'z' and then use those solutions to find the solutions in terms of 'x'.
