2/x-1 - x/x+3 = 6/x^2+2x-3
note: x = 1 cannot be a solution as it would result in a denominator = 0
Multiplying each term on both sides of the equation by (x+3)(x-1)so as all denominators = 1
2(x+3) - x(x-1) = 6
solving for x
2x + 6 - x^2 + x = 6
x + 6 -x^2 = 6
0 = x^2 - x
0 = x(x-1)
x = 0
x = 1 See above, this is not a solution
