The first thing you need to do is stop calling something that doesn't have an equals sign in it an equation. You have an expression.

When you have a minus sign in front of a set of parentheses, treat it as if it were a (-1). Then multiply the -1 times each of the terms inside of the parentheses.



Minus one times d is -d and minus one times minus 2 is plus 2, so:



11 plus 2 is 13. Then 13 minus 6 is 7, so:
