Volume % Silt Silt
Soil @ 15% Silt 3 15 .45
Soil @ 35% Silt x 35 .35x
Soil @ 23% Silt 3+x 23 .45+.35x
.23(3+X) = .45 + .35x
.69 + .23x = .45 + .35x
.69 - .45 = .35x - .23x
.24 = .12x
x = .24/.12
x = 2
