You can put this solution on YOUR website! The area of a garden is 1920 square feet, and the length of its diagonal is 68 feet. Find the dimensions of the garden.
..
area = L*W=1920
diagonal = 68
..
L=1920/W
..
use pythagoras theorem
(1920/w)^2+w^2=68^2
3686400 +w^4=4625w^2
w^4-4625^2+3686400=0
use quadratic formula
discriminant = 6605025
x1=(4625+sqrt(6645025))/2
x1=w^2 (taking only positve values of w^2)& rounding off The decimals
x1= 3601.39
Take square root we w=60
length = 1920/60
Length = 30
The dimensions are 60 by 32
