1.) 9x+6 = 10x-2. Then
6%2B2+=+10x-9x,
8+=+x.
2.) Let x = former price. Since there was a 24% discount, the sale price of $34.20 is 76% of x, or 0.76x+=+34.20, or x = $45.
3.) This is similar to #2 above. Since there was a 18% discount, the sale price of $410 is 82% of x, or 0.82x+=+410, or x = $500.
